Read Time: 3 minutes and 44 seconds
Hi, I’m Brandon Leavitt, the sole trademark attorney at Trademark Valet. When you choose my services, you are dealing directly with me—no intermediaries, no support staff. Just personal, dedicated legal expertise tailored to your needs.
At Trademark Valet, I believe in making trademark protection straightforward, reliable, and accessible. My mission is to empower businesses and individuals by protecting their brands with unparalleled expertise and personal attention.
My Story: From Biochemist to Trademark Attorney
The journey into law was unconventional. Initially, I ventured into biochemistry, driven by a passion for science and a desire to make a difference. However, while working in the lab, I realized that my world was getting smaller, focused on increasingly specialized tasks. I yearned for a career that allowed me to engage with a broader range of challenges and opportunities.
During the Great Recession, finding a job was tough, and traditional law firms were not hiring. So, I decided to carve out my own path, integrating my scientific background with the dynamic field of law. This unique blend of skills allowed me to build a legal practice that is both methodical and creative. Which allows me to offer my clients innovative solutions to their intellectual property issues.
But I’ll share with you an (open) secret. Although I have helped hundreds of clients through all types of intellectual property issues—I have always enjoyed the most satisfaction from being a trademark attorney.
Why I Created Trademark Valet
There are lots of reasons. First and foremost, I really just prefer the trademark work. I enjoy it and I’m good at it, so why not start a practice that let’s me focus on it?
But also, while working at a traditional law firm, I’ve come to hate how often clients face impersonal services and unexpected fees. And you know what? It doesn’t have to be that way, at least not with me, not in a law firm that I have 100% control over.
That’s why I founded Trademark Valet. Because I want to provide high-quality, client-focused and transparent trademark services that truly meet the needs of modern businesses.

Litigation Cases/Media
BRANDON LEADS DAVID TO VICTORY OVER GOLIATH IN MILLION-DOLLAR LAWSUIT (Pearson’s Inc. v. Ackerman, Civil Action No. 7:18-cv-00013-BP)
Brandon Leavitt defended a small cattle rancher against a trade dress infringement lawsuit from a major cattle chute manufacturer seeking millions in damages. Despite facing a team of specialized lawyers, Brandon’s unique expertise in both USPTO procedures and federal litigation proved decisive. He exploited differences between USPTO standards and 5th Circuit trademark laws to not only win the case but also secure cancellation of the plaintiff’s trade dress registration. This David vs. Goliath victory, where Brandon turned a multi-million dollar claim into a defense win, showcased his ability to outmaneuver larger opponents and invalidate seemingly strong intellectual property rights in court.
BRANDON SECURES MASSIVE $2 MILLION PAYOUT IN TRADEMARK SHOWDOWN (KY Home and Garden, LLC vs. AMI Ventures, Inc. et. al., 4:20-cv-3382)
Brandon Leavitt fought hard for his client and won big. He took on a company that was using his client’s trademark without permission. After years in court, the judge in Texas agreed with Brandon and ordered the other company to pay $2,000,000 to his client. It was a big win for the client and shows how important it is to protect your brand.
BRANDON THWARTS COPYCAT’S ATTEMPT TO STEAL CLIENT’S BUSINESS (Verify Him, LLC vs. Jessica Lanning, Trademark Opposition TTAB Proceeding 91252600)
Brandon Leavitt successfully blocked a competitor’s attempt to register a confusingly similar trademark. This competitor, a former client, had tried to copy his client’s entire business model and name. Despite the challenger’s network advantages and his client’s need for anonymity, Brandon prevailed at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He proved the proposed mark was unregistrable due to likelihood of confusion with his client’s existing trademark. This victory not only stopped the trademark application but also thwarted the competitor’s attempt to exploit his client’s business model.
